Illinois pharmacy law
What is the youngest age at which a patient may receive an influenza vaccine from a pharmacist based on Illinois state pharmacy law?
Under Illinois law, pharmacists may administer vaccinations to patients 7 years of age and older pursuant to a valid prescription or standing order.
Federal pharmacy law
A patient just home from the hospital with a broken leg can't come to the pharmacy to pick up a Schedule II prescription that's already on file. They ask whether the pharmacy can mail it to their house. How should the pharmacist respond?
Federal rules allow pharmacies to mail controlled substances, including Schedule II, to the patient when packaging and shipping requirements are met. The drug name must not be shown on the outer package.
